Aw shucks, I am so Skirt!!!

A great publication called Skirt Magazine has just done a profile on me and my little boutique for the January issue, which is all about Lady Luck. (Which I love). It's my first ever interview and so I am very excited and flattered. That's me your proprietress. The resident photograper for Skirt Deborah Triplett did an awesome job. I loved speaking with the savvy and stylish editor of Skirt locally Aleigh Acern who did my interview. I include it here:

Boutique owner Anita always dreamed of opening her own boutique, but with a full-time career that has taken her all over the United States and abroad, the timing was never right. Fast-forward to this past October: Anita and her husband are finally settled for good in Charlotte (they hope), and Anita’s dream has finally come true. Her store, a vignette within Interiors Marketplace in Atherton Mills, is called Vie Chaotique—French for “chaotic life,” which was what Anita felt she had lived for the past decade. “It’s been a crazy time,” she says. “The loss of parents, moves…a chaotic life. Our credo is: Out of chaos comes beauty.” And also, apparently, beautiful things—Anita has filled her store with a mix of what she calls “antidotes for the chaotic life,” including everything from French antiques to handmade soaps and candles. “It’s a labor of love,” says Anita. “Sometimes you just have to do something from your heart to feel fulfilled."

Skirt is known for it's great fiction and non fiction essays, and promoting artists and small businesses. If you want to you can read more from this great publication and can't pick it up in your town click on the Skirt button on the right of my blog!
