Boutique owner Anita always dreamed of opening her own boutique, but with a full-time career that has taken her all over the United States and abroad, the timing was never right. Fast-forward to this past October: Anita and her husband are finally settled for good in Charlotte (they hope), and Anita’s dream has finally come true. Her store, a vignette within Interiors Marketplace in Atherton Mills, is called Vie Chaotique—French for “chaotic life,” which was what Anita felt she had lived for the past decade. “It’s been a crazy time,” she says. “The loss of parents, moves…a chaotic life. Our credo is: Out of chaos comes beauty.” And also, apparently, beautiful things—Anita has filled her store with a mix of what she calls “antidotes for the chaotic life,” including everything from French antiques to handmade soaps and candles. “It’s a labor of love,” says Anita. “Sometimes you just have to do something from your heart to feel fulfilled."
